Anna Kendrick on “Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World”

Yesterday I participated in a roundtable interview with Anna Kendrick for her new movie Up in the Air. While I’ll have a full transcript soon, I wanted to share what she said about Edgar Wright’s (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) Scott Pilgrim vs. The World today. If you didn’t know, she plays Michael Cera’s sister in the movie.

While we didn’t spend that much time talking about the film, she revealed she’s seen some of the movie and says, “You should start emotionally preparing yourself now. It’s so good, people are not going to know what hit them. I have a small role in so I’m allowed to gush. It’s so cool. I’ve never seen anything like it. There’s an energy and a style that I’ve just never seen before and I think it’s going to make the fastest movie you’ve seen look like a Merchant Ivory film. There, I said it.” (Source & Read more…)

New “Scott Pilgrim” picture

Edgar Wright (the director of Scott Pilgrim) tweeted the following on Nov 19th:

There is an amazing stunt in this fight scene we’re editing that people will assume is not Mary Elizabeth Winstead. It is.

Later that day he then posted a new picture of our girl that you can see here – the Winstead Effect, anyone? ;)

Jason Schwartzman on First 20 Min of ‘Scott Pilgrim’

Though “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” will not hit U.S. theaters until 2010, one of the film’s stars, Jason Schwartzman, has had a chance to watch the first twenty minutes of the movie. In an exclusive interview with MTV Splash Page, he explained what he saw from the footage:

“I saw the first 20 minutes of it and I’m very proud to be a part of it,” Schwartzman admitted. Later, he revealed that his character is not seen in the 20-minute clip, saying “Not to spoil a lot, but I’m not really a part of the first 20 minutes.” He additionally shared, “I hadn’t seen any of that stuff they shot. The whole thing was a surprise. You read the script and you imagine it, but then to see it… I was so excited.”

Commenting on the film based on the clip he saw, Schwartzman later stated, “I hope-and I’m pretty confident-that that’s the way people will feel when they see the movie.” He then explained, “Because I’m a fan of the comics and a fan of Edgar and Michael, and watching the first 20 minutes it was like, ‘Oh! There’s that, and that, and that, and I’ve always wondered what that would [look like]…’”

Overall, Schwartzman thinks “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” is “unlike anything” he has ever seen before. Moreover, the depicter of Gideon Graves claimed, “It’s really funny, it’s really emotional, there’s a lot of romance-but the action sequences, I’ve never seen scenes quite like these. They’re really beautiful.” (Source)

New look!

We finally have a new layout for the site – what do you all think? I believe it turned out a little too simple, but it’s still better than the previous temporary version we had up. Anyway – on to the updates! :) I started to cap my 2-disc-special edition DVD of Final Destination 3, the movie I first noticed Mary in and became a fan! So far I have only uploaded captures of the extras (meaning TV spots and extended scenes and especially the Making Of) but I’ll do the feature film next – stay tuned!

I uploaded tons of new public events pictures from the Mercedes-Benz Spring 2007 L.A. Fashion Week (2006), 2006 BAFTA LA Cunard Britannia Awards, “Sex Drive” Los Angeles Premiere (2008) and the “The X-Files: I Want To Believe” London Premiere (2008). I also found an exclusive new picture from the Young Star Awards 2000, an event we previously didn’t have any images from. Enjoy! :)
